Right now what I see in Google Search Console is a shame.
It is the result of me looking after clients, and not taking care of my own website, because I had my clients coming via Upwork.
It is about time that I explain why I stopped working via Upwork, but I will safe that for the next one.
Today I want to share just how bad the situation is.
Nodoby is seeing this anyway, so there is no reason te be ashamed whatsoever. From here on the only way is up.
30 organic visits in six months
Just a measily 30 clicks in six months. We can learn from this. 3 clicks in the last 28 days…
The traffic was not that great before, and has slowly declined over the years for a couple of reasons. On 21 of april 2026 we had the last Core update and it made things even worse.
One of the reasons was the last post dated from december 2025. So for months there had been no update at all, and technical SEO efforts were absent, because I put all my trust in the default WordPress website structure.
On 9th of May I wrote the post: What T. H. is wrong with my site?, that is more or less when I started trying to turn things around.
The post was “rewarded” with one click on the entire site that month. Oogh.
Over the past couple of months I wrote 8 more posts. Equivalant to eight technical SEO sessions and my post being the report about it.
So far what we can observe is kind of a recovery from the core update untill the baseline ammount of clicks. Also, the spam updates starting from september result in high volatility of positions, but the clicks remain constant.
It is very difficult to put in this effort, and basically see no upward trend at al, merely a recovery to a low baseline level. It is hardly a life beat.
I show you this now, because now it is the most hard time to continue my efforts.
Later we can laugh about it.
With the next core update I do expect an uplift.
Note, that in this period the only effort made was technical ON SITE SEO and not focussed on obtaining backlinks, other than asking for them in my blogposts.
Will this effort be rewarded with the next core update in November or December?
My one ask for you
It becomes a habbit now to ask for a backlink at the end of each post. If people ask for a like or subscribe after each video, why not ask for it at the end of each blogpost? I guess it is working in video, so give me a reason why this would not work in written content?
