This brief blog is a note to myself to remind me about this last edit on my website.
I might as well share it in public, because it can be of use for anyone interested in reorganising a wordpress website.
Most important note is that the Search Engine Rankings for this site are pretty bad. There was no back link effort made, and the conent is badly organised around to broad higly competitive topics being SEA and SEO.
If a site would be ranking good for certain topics, I would nog be this harsh in moving around pages and posts. Now I am using the big buther knife.
Second note is that I do keep exisitng content. It is a reorganisation to match the organisations future path. Each piece of content tells a story in the history towards what, so I prefer to keep it.
In the last session I created a WordPress section. This is a reminder that now I have to make sub pages about themes and plugins. What have I begun!
Also, a top section for Brand Building was made. Something I currently to for internal projects, and I foresee as the next step in professional development, towards client projects.
Closely related to brand building, is the business model for the underlying business. I started today with categorising the Software as a Service posts around development of the Backbone Integrated Management System. Now all these (18) posts are Categorized as Business Models: SaaS: Integrated Management System
I created the corresponding pages, creating a whole new area of topics to branch out to, on purpose.

In this new structure the tag is the deepest layer in the website. The categories and tag page still need to get merged to avoid duplicate content. That will be my next thing to do on the site, after I mrged the tags of the rest of the posts.
This was a good step in the process of rolling out the new structure!
